Aaron Elias started booking this but then moved, I'm not sure who took over booking, but for a while this was supposed to not happen. I just found out about it yesterday when it was made final, so I guess the promoting starts today.

There's been a ton of hardcore shows this year? Wreak Havoc and Homewrecker, Urban Blight, Duress and Vile Gash (sucked Scapegoat canceled), Soul Control and Outbreak played Dayton, Hellmouth in Dayton, Agress is supposed to be playing in April, Nothing to Nothing just played on the 24th.

I'm not whining i'm jus sayin that aaron always books shows and doesn't promote. i know of good bands that won't play columbus because of aaron and how he doesn't promote and then doesn't make the gurantee. i'm not trying to argue i'm jus sayin. oh and i knew about most of those shows but legion and 15th house shows start to late and i work in the mornings. thanks for telling me though. if any other kids that have been going to hardcore shows for a year want to tell me some shit i already know feel freee!

yeah scott took the show over.

i agree that there has been a serious lack of promoting of shows, but 90% of them have been listed on the columbus sucks board (http://www.columbusdiy.freeforums.org) which isn't necessarily an excuse, but scott just made a facebook group for columbus hardcore shows and hopefully people will start flyering at shows again.

hopefully we can get some good shows this year.

Aaron always books shows and doesnt promote??? i never make my guarantee? you cant make a guarantee if no one shows. you obviously knew about every show i booked because you were there. and what bands wont play columbus because of me?? im pretty sure i fucking did everything for about 2 years in columbus and because you all cried about there never being shows and then not coming to shows kind of made me not give a fuck. but fuck you none the less. i booked this show and i have venue troubles so i did all i can i can't start promoting a show when i dont have confirmation. but for real i am interested in hearing your reply. also you could always get off your ass and book shows and help promote if you care so much just saying. other people have jobs and can still help. but yes i moved and scotty was nice enough to take over this show. but if you want to talk shit have fun at it. i could give a fuck less im about a 1000 miles away from you fucking cry babies.

and the only show i can think of that i didnt make guarantee was stray from the path and some other band. any other shows i have booked i made the guarantee even though i sometimes had to ask for donations. but heads up i turned down skarhead, and a few other good shows because no matter how hard i promote columbus still sucks dick and i didn't think columbus was worth my time for shows like that. i can also go back and name a list of awesome shows i could have booked but turned down because of this shitty fucking city full of part time hardcore kids.

You might not be the only one to blame but the only show I can think of that had a flyer with more than a week or 2 notice was Death Threat. I'm NOT talking shit either. I know Columbus kids suck and don't come to shows but no one making flyers and only telling friends about shows doesn't help. Posting about them on myspace only does so much. I appreciate you booking shows but I've had people from Cleveland and other places ask me when a show happened because they never heard shit about it. If you want to get salty about it then do what you do. We didn't hang out everyday when you lived here and I didn't even know you moved til I heard it from someone else so you being 1000 miles away or 10 miles away wouldn't be any different to me.

Hardcore shows were great when Edison and Justin booked shows.

Also other then brian NO ONE in his band goes to hardcore shows, and coming to a two a year doesnt mean shit. Its the same with EVERY other fucking band in columbus. Everyone is a part of the problem of why more shows don't happen in columbus. I go to shows out of town all the time and have been to shows all over the country the scene here is a joke. A fucking joke.

and saying 5 shows happened in columbus is nothing to what it used to be or what most other cities have going.

All I can say is when I was included in booking shows, I posted flyers on hundreds of individual myspaces, cleveland hardcore board, b9, and some other outlets. Any bands I requested Aaron to help me book, we met and passed our garauntees...like down to nothing, the last naysayer and bracewar etc.


I do agree, not enough people come to shows on a consistent basis.

Fact every show i have ever booked besides maybe 5 *due to short notice or venue conflicts* have had fliers made for them up to at least a month in advance. and who gives a flying fuck about anyone in cleveland...... weather or not they saw fliers or heard a show was going to be in columbus no one would come down. kids from cinci or even indiana come to columbus more often. i just dont appreciate you of all people saying i bands wont play here because of me when you have been to how many of my shows for free??? get the fuck out of town dude. *not literally*

My review of this show:

Broken Bodies - sounded really good, especially for their first tour. Too bad they were out of place for this show since they are really tiny people.

Empire - so hard, best band of all time.

Restless - First time seeing them, it's always good to see Columbus bands that are good. Also cool that there were young kids to see them.

Naysayer- AWFUL. Seriously, awful. How is this band popular?

Steel Nation - WWF wrestlers playing hardcore. I'm not really saying that as an insult, it is what it is. Then they said Naysayer were "real motherfuckers" and explained what that is. I am really afraid that I am not a "real motherfucker."


Moshers:

Lil Eric - I think Lil Eric might be getting old. His moshing was kept to a minimum and I didn't hear one "you a faggot nigga." Not one.

Nate - Didn't see mosh once. I don't think he is really down for the core.

Ethan - had a cold, what else is new? Still dropped over $100 on CDs.

Spin-kick ninjas- WHAT?! For real?!?!

Really young kid- Realest dude there. You wish you had been going to shows that young.

Jakob Ort - didn't mosh. Stood in the back and talked about heavy shit like child rapists and dead-beat dads. Left early to get on facebook to post post-straightedge rants.
